Wm. G. Wilson was born in Perry county, Ohio, May 22, 1815, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sylvester McDaniel, in Fredonia, Iowa, on Sunday, September 17, 1893, at 3 o'clock p. m., aged 78 years, 3 months and 25 days. The deceased was united in matrimony with Elizabeth D. Waugh of Virginia on July 15, 1837. The fifty-six years of their married life were marked by devotion to each other gladdened by twelve children, seven of whom are living. These children, seven of whom are living. These children, fifteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and his sister, Mrs. Reynolds, were present at the close of his life and funeral services. He was converted early in life and was a member of the United Brethren church until his removal to Fredonia when he united with the Methodist church and has ever been a faithful follower of Christ. His last hours were spent in prayer and in telling of the goodness of God to the sorrowing friends about him. He moved to Louisa county in 1864 where he has since lived a good, true citizen, loved by all who knew him. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church conducted by Rev. M. J. Pusey, and the interment was in the Indian Creek cemetery.
