Welsh Neighborhood, July 24 - The community was shocked on hearing the news of the sudden death of Mr. E. Hughes, which occurred Friday afternoon while he was in his hay field. The horse started suddenly and he fell to the ground, dying instantly. He was born in Wales forty-nine years ago, but emigrated to Newark, Ohio, in childhood and while still a boy, moved to Iowa with his parents. He was an old soldier, a good citizen ad neighbor and was a member of the Masonic fraternity. He was buried Saturday afternoon at the Cambrain cemetery, Revs. Williams and Johns conducting the services.
