On Saturday last an emery wheel in Edward's shop, Wapello, burst, one of the pieces striking Gus Tillman in the side. nothing serious was thought of it at the time, but twenty-four hours later peritonitis set in and medical skill proved of no avail. He died Monday morning. Young Tillman was an industrious, sober young man and his untimely death is keenly felt and regretted by all who knew him. He was a son of Rev. Tillman, who was pastor of the German M. E. church there some years since, and a brother of Ed Tillman, one of Wapello's prominent merchants. The funeral took place on Tuesday.
