Mrs. Susannah Montgomery, of Morning Sun, departed this life Monday, July 25, at the ripe age of eighty-two years, lacking only six days. She was born in Maryland but removed in early life to Ohio. At the age of twenty she married Mr. James Montgomery. In 1856 they came to Iowa and settled in Morning Sun. Five years ago she was left a widow, since which time she made her home with her son-in-law and daughter. She was the mother of five children, four of whom survive her. viz: John Andrew Montgomery, of Hamburg, Iowa; Mrs. Chas. Patterson, Mrs. Dr. McCaughan and Mrs. J. K. Faris, all of Morning Sun.
