Death of Mrs. Freeland.

Mrs Aurilla Freeland was born in York state on May, 1803. She was married in Pike county, Ohio, when young to Adam James. Two children were the result of this union. After Mr. James' death she was married to Jacob Freeland, in the same county and state. With him she emigrated to Iowa, settling in Louisa county, in Grandview. here her husband died in 1851, being the first victim in that vicinity of that dread scourge, the cholera. She remained a widow ever since, making her home with her children in this and Washington counties. She raised a family by her last husband of eight children, four of who are still loving. The children surviving her are J. W. James, Washington, by her first husband, and Mrs. R. T. Lesnet, Wapello; and three sons, I. C. Freeland, of this place; E. S. Washington county and W. S. of Wapello. Her death occurred Wednesday, January 6, at 1:30 p. m. at the residence of her daughter, Wapello. Funeral will be at Grandview to-morrow at 11 o'clock, to be conducted by Rev. Willitts. She has been a consistent member of the Methodist church since girlhood.
