LOCAL NEWS.

The many friends of Hugh L. Denham will learn with regret of his death at his home in Minden, Nebraska, on the 11th inst. He was nearly 54 years old and had been one of the early settlers of this vicinity. Coming here when a boy with his father's family and was a resident of Columbus City until a few years ago when he moved to Nebraska. He served 3 years in the army during the war as 1st Sergt. Co. F. 25th Iowa. He was a genial pleasant gentleman and a man of good business qualifications and well respected by those who knew him.
