OBITUATY. Peter Chrissenger died at the residence of his son in-law, F. H. Wykert, in Marshall township Louisa county, Iowa, march 20, 1889, aged 87 years, 10 months and 7 days. The deceased was born in Summerset county, Pennsylvania, May 13, 1801. he moved with his father's family to Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania in 1820. On May 18, 1835 he was married to Sarah Mayatts, who still survives. To them were born ten children, four of whom, one son and three daughters, still survive. The daughters are Maggie Knight of Sherman county, Kansas; Mary E. Reddick of Furnis county, Nebraska and the youngest Matilda Wykert of the county. John, the only son, lives in Morning Sun. An adopted daughter, Julia A. Sours, lives in Kaskaska county, Michigan. Mr. Chrissinger came to Iowa in 1855 and has resided in Louisa county ever since. He became a member of the Presbyterian church in his youth and retained his connection with that organization to the time of his death. On the 22nd day of May he suffered from a paralytic stroke from which he never recovered. He was not confined to his bed until about two weeks before he died. During his sufferings which were protracted, he was never heard to murmer. He was a kind husband and father who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, for he had the love and respect of all. he died as he lived and was ready to go when the summons came. "Our loss was his gain." Mr. and Mrs. Francis Wykert and Mr. and Mrs. John Chrissinger desire to thank their friends and neighbors for their kind attention during his sickness.
