OBITUARY.

Wm. Allen was born in county Armaugh, Ireland, Christmas day, 1811 and died at his home near Columbus City, Sunday, January 27th, 1889, aged something over 77 years. He emigrated to this country in 1840 and had the misfortune to lose his wife by death on board ship on the Atlantic while on his way to America. subsequently he married in New York city, to Miss Anna Coyle, who survives him. Mr. Allen's death was the result of an apoplectic stroke the Thursday preceding his death. He was the father of J. L. Allen, dry goods merchant of this place. The funeral occurred from the Christian church, Tuesday at 2 p. m. from which place the remains were carried to the beautiful cemetery adjoining. The community sympathizes with the afflicted one in their grief.
