Bert K. Dotson, 84, of Freeport, Illinois died Friday, February 4, 2000 at Freeport Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 25, 1915 in Morning Sun, Ioa to Oscar and Edith (Baxter) Dotson. On June 12, 1943, he and Leuna M. Delzell were married. She died April 16, 1983. On November 9, 1985 he and Loretta Mae Timmer were married.

At the time of his retirement in 1983, he was working at the Chryslter Assembly Plant in Belvidere.

During World War II he served in the Army Air Force.

He was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Gary (Sandy) Dotson of Freeport, Mel (Linda) Dotson of Lena and David Dotson of Freeport; one stepson, Doran (Sandy) Timmer of Hartford, Wisconsin; one stepdaughter, Rhonda (Ron) Lint of Batavia; one brother Mark (NaNa) Dotson of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Verona Walker of Kahoka, Missouri, and Geneva Gilmore of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.

Proceding him in death were his parents; first wife; five brothers, Ted, Cleo, Boyd, Kenneth, and Homer Dotson.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Thomas T. McClellan officiating. Burial was at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Friends called at the Walker Mortuary.

Memorial funds have been established for Park Hills Evangelical Free Church and American Cancer Society.
