Thomas A. Nelson, 35, native and lifelong resident of Morning Sun, died Saturday morning in the hospital at Iowa City, where he had been a patient six weeks. Death followed an operation.

Mr. Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Nelson, was born on a farm north of Cairo, the family later moving northwest of Morning Sun, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Mabel Jarvis.

Surviving are his mother; his grandmother, Mrs. J. A. Hull, Morning Sun; his widow; four brothers, Omer, Morning Sun; Oliver, Sioux Falls, S. D.; Harry, veterans' hospital, Des Moines; and Wilmer, Mt. Pleasant; also two sisters, Mrs. Daisy McKeever Morning Sun, and Mrs. Vera Jackson, Mt. Union.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, in the L. R. Pearce funeral home at Morning Sun, and burial was in the Cairo cemetery.
