Oakville Sentinel, November 7, 1935

Mrs. Sarah Ann Griffith Hinson, aged 83 years, died at the Burlington hospital at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, 1935. She had been in declining health for the past few years, but her last illness was only of a week's duration.

She was born in Ohio Aug. 1, 1852, and was united in marriage to Joab Hinsen Feb. 13, 1873. They came to Burlington soon after their marriage where they resided for a time and then moved to a farm near Kingston, which has since been her home. Prior to her marriage she was an active member of the Methodist church, and also a prominent member of the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two children, Mrs. Nora Dravis and Garrett Hinson, both of Kingston.

Surviving her death are two daughters, Mrs. Ida Reiman, of Sperry, and Mrs. Rosa Bowman, of Oakville, one son, James, of Kingston; also 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the M. E. church in Kingston Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. W. Griffith. Appropriate selections were sung by Mrs. R. R. Hunt, Mrs. C. E. Kimble, Mrs. J. G. Waterhouse and Miss Letha Carter, Mrs. W. W. Griffith presiding at the piano. Burial was in the Dolbee cemetery.
