Oliver C. Manley, aged 62 years, died a the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Rabenold at Columbus Junction at 12:50 a.m. today after an extended illness. Mr. Manley made his home in Muscatine for 10 years, until about two months ago.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Manley, he was born at Wapello on May 1, 1879 and had resided in Muscatine and Louisa counties his entire life. He married Sylvia F. Bliven on Feb. 28, 1904.
Surviving are six sons, Lorimer Manley of davenport, Elmer Manley of Detroit, Mich., Robert Manley of Alhambro, Calif., and Rodney, Virgil and Harold Manley, all of Muscatine; also one daughter, Karen Manley of Muscatine. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. W. C. Brown of Des Moines and five grandchildren. His wife’s death occurred last October.
Mr. Manley was a veteran of the Spanish American war and served on the Mexican border in 1916. He attended the United Brethren church.
The body is at the Richie funeral home at Columbus Junction pending arrangement for rites.
