Howard “Pat” Weber

Howard E “Pat” Weber, 89 of Morning Sun, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant. The son of Charles and Ermil (Hamilton) Weber, he was born August 19, 1922 at Wapello. On September 20, 1950 he married Phyllis J. “Bill” Nott at Morning Sun.

He was a graduate of the Wapello High School. He served in the US Army during World War II.

He was a mechanic and auto body tech in earlier years and retired from owning and operating Weber Implement in Morning Sun. He achieved many awards with Massey during his years of operating the dealership.

He was a charter member of Indian Hills Country Club, a charter member of the Morning Sun Lions Club, a member of the Wapello Masonic Lodge #5, and a member of the Morning Sun American Legion. He was a member of the Morning Sun United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of Morning Sun; one daughter, Susan and Chuck Pettrone of Kalona; one son, Joel and Jodi Weber of Center Point; three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, one brother and one sister.

The funeral service was Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Morning Sun United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun.

Following the service there was a time of visitation and fellowship.

Visitation was Friday afternoon at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun. In lieu of flowers, memorials were established for the Morning Sun Fire Department and Ambulance Service and the United Methodist Church.
