At about 12:45 o'clock on Wednesday p.m., November 26th, this community was saddened by the announcement of the death of Mrs. Will R. Mulhern, after an illness of many months. She had been at death's door for several weeks and her taking away was not unexpected. She suffered, but bore the pain with fortitude, not complaining, striving to make her sickness as light a burden as possible.

Alta Benson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Benson, was born at Grandview, Iowa, December 13th, 1877. From there they removed to Letts, and later to this place, having lived here for the past 20 years.

On June 18, 1902, she was united in marriage to Will R. Mulhern, to which union one child, Charlotte, was born, who survives and will miss the guiding hand and good council of a devoted mother.

She has been an earnest Christian, being a member of the M.E. church of this city. She had hosts of friends not only in this community, but throughout the entire county.

Besides her husband and daughter, she leaves to mourn her demise, her father, J.H. Benson, brother, Plinny and one sister, Mrs. Phil Westbrook, all of whom reside in this town.

The funeral services will be held from the home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Reverend E.C. Brooks, of the M.E. church here. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
