Cole Norris

Cole Norris, 17, Grandview, died Friday afternoon, September 26, 2003, in a motor vehicle accident near Wapello. The son of Isaac C. and Lisa Horton Norris, he was born October 23, 1985 in Muscatine.

Cole was a senior at L & M High School where he had lettered in bowling and speech. He was a member of FFA and had enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked part-time at Johnnie B’s restaurant in Wapello.

Survivors include his mother, Lisa Norris and her fiancé’ Beaver Bishop of Grandview; his father, Ike Norris of York, Pa.; a sister, Kelly Norris; maternal grandparents, Ron and Kay Horton of Muscatine; a step-brother, Mike Bishop of Muscatine; two aunts, Kerri Price of Iowa City and Robbie Wolfe of Muscatine; two uncles, Tracy Horton and Scott Horton, both of Muscatine; and nine cousins, Broolyn and Rylee Price, Kelsey, Abby and Dakota Horton, Kathy Wolfe, Casey and Mark Norris, and Gene White.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Mary Norris, and his uncle Frank Norris.

Visitation was Monday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello where the family met with friends in the evening.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund was established for the Cole Norris Scholarship Fund and for the L & M Bowling program.

The funeral service for Cole Norris was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Grandview Community Bible Church with the Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating, with cremation to follow. Music was provided by Steve Kirby, Adam Uhl and Nate Whitcomb.

The pallbearers were Brett Timmerman, Matt Shutt, Darren Schneider, Shawn Kelley, Raine Terrill, Beau Bonnichsen, Derek Schneider and Austin Banks. Honorary bearers were Cody Hohenadel, Nick Riedl and Mike Bishop.
