Samuel C. Bell, 89, 1811 East First Street, Long Beach, California, died November 12 at his home.

Mr. Bell was born December 15, 1856 on a farm near Morning Sun, Iowa, in the Marsh vicinity. He was the son of Thomas and Jane Byers Bell. He married Sophronia Hunt, who died December 1933. They lived for a time in Creston, Iowa, Green Ridge, Missouri and Warrensburg, Missouri, moving to Long Beach in 1927.

To this union were born two children, Howard Hunt Bell who died at the age of 19 at Warrensburg, Missouri, and Mrs. Lillian Crawford, who resides in Long Beach; also two grandsons, Jack and Don Crawford; and one brother, Thomas Bell, of Morning Sun.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church at Long Beach and was a member of Zerah Lodge No. 652 A.F. and A.M. of Morning Sun.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 16, at 10 am in the chapel of Holton and Son Mortuary, Dr. George W. McDonald of the First Methodist church officiating. Interment was made in Forst Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale.
