LAST RITES HELD FOR RUSSELL HARRIS

Russell Harris, son of T.J. and Sarah Randolph Harris, was born December 2, 1891, and died of a heart ailment Friday, November 2, 1945 at 5 pm at his home near Morning Sun. Mr. Harris had been suffering with a heart ailment for about a year, but was suddenly stricken with the attack which resulted in death.

He was married to Hortense Jamison, December 4, 1913, at Burlington, Iowa. Their daughters, Mrs. Zoe Schutte and Mrs. Fay Brisse, both live in Burlington. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Connie George, Sandia and Harven Schutte, Jr., and one brother, Burr Harris, living on a nearby farm.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge. He was a good husband and father and was highly regarded as a friend and neighbor in the community.

Funeral services were held from the Dudgeon Funeral Home in Wapello on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock and were in charge of Rev. R. Vernon Pike of Morning Sun. Interment was in the Elmwood cemetery. The Knights of Pythias Lodge at Wapello formed an Honor Guard at the funeral and rendered their beautiful service at the grave. Pallbearers were H.M. Griffin, Forrest Harris, Keith McClurkin, Ellis Harris, Howard Hill and Wm. Randolph. The flowers were arranged by Dorothy Harris, Fanny Harris and Elma Ykkel.
