Mrs. Estella Higginbottom Passed Away at Dubuque

The many friends of Mrs. Elmer Higgenbottom, nee Estella Butler, were deeply grieved to hear of her sudden death at Dubuque, Sunday, Dec. 20, after an operation in a hospital in that city. Mrs. H. had been in poor health for several months and had been operated upon several times for bowel trouble. For several months she had been under the care of physicians and specialists, but her trouble seemed to be beyond human skill to aid.

The announcedment of her death was a great shock to her family and friends and came as a result of an operation. Her mother was with her at the time of her death.

The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.I. Butler of this city, and was born in Cairo, Iowa, April 27, 1883, thus being 31 years, 7 months and 23 days of age at the time of her demise. She lived here for several years with her parents before her marriage to Elmer Higginbottom and for some time afterwards, Mr. Higginbottom being proprietor of a tonsorial parlor here. From this place they moved to Cedar Rapids and later to Washington, Iowa.

Mrs. Higginbottom's death is mourned by a large circle of friends besides the surviving relatives, who are: Her husband, her parents, one brother, Drury, who has been in Illinois, and one sister, Mrs. Louis Otto, of this vicintiy.

The funeral services were held yesterday (Wednessday) afternoon, Dec. 23, at 2 o'clock, from the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. C.W. Sydman. Interment was made in the Wapello cemetery.
