Gerald L. Berg

Gerald Leroy Berg, 72, of Wapello, Iowa and formerly of California and Grants Pass, Oregon, died Tuesday morning, November 30, 2010 at his home. The son of Carl and Madge Cummings Berg, he was born on November 16, 1933 in Los Angeles, California.

He married Margarete Kramer on November 19, 1955. He served in the US Army in Germany in the late 1950s. Gerald worked for the Civil Service in Alameda, California in refridgeration.

He was a lifetime member of E. Clampus Vitus. Gerald enjoyed fishing and camping.

His family survivors include six children, Larry Berg of Wapello, Ron Berg of Newark, California, Nancy Silva of Waterford, California, Rickey Berg of Grants Pass, Oregon, Susanna Vicars of Oakley, California and Sylvia Moseley of Grans Pass, Oregon; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Berg, Jr. of Buena Park, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and an infant son.

Cremation will be completed.

An informal gathering of friends and family will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the home of Larry and Pam Berg at 614 Isett in Wapello.

Arrangements and care have been provided by the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.
