INDIANOLA, Iowa - Paul Raymond Linder, 92, Indianola, formerly of Wapello, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the TCU Unit at the Iowa Health Des Moines Hospital.

The Revs. Sue-Ellen Sherman and Harlan Winter will officiate the service.

The Rev. Scott Smith will officiate the burial.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the United Methodist Church in Wapello, the Wapello Kiwanis Club, and the Salvation Army.

Mr. Linder was born Sept. 23, 1918, near Mount Union, the son of Oscar and Clara Ross Linder.

He married Guyla Louise Poggemiller March 8, 1941, near Morning Sun. She preceded him in death Feb. 8, 1993.

He was a 1936 graduate of Morning Sun High School. He was a life-long farmer first in the Yarmouth and Morning Sun areas and then moved to the Wapello area in 1951. He was a member of the Wapello United Methodist Church which he served on various committees, lay leader, trustee, superintendent of Sunday School, membership and evangelism.

He was on the board of directors for the Wapello Farmers Elevator for 27 years and served as the secretary for 18 of those years.

He was a member of the Louisa County Farm Bureau, Louisa County Historical Society, Kiwanis Club of Wapello, Marsh Club of Winfield and the RSVP Travel Club of Columbus Junction. He was a seed corn salesman for G-Funk Hybrid and did maintenance work for the ASCS Conservation Office.

His surviving family includes his daughter, Joyce Cook and husband, John of Indianola; a granddaughter, Stacey Trupiano and husband, David of Friendswood, Texas; a great-grandson, Dominic; and a great-granddaughter, Alexa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Guyla; four brothers, Tom, Carl, Orville and Verlyn; and two sisters, Mildred McKeown and Elsie Barton.
