David Lee Evans, of Potosi, MO, formerly of Columbus Junction, IA, passed away December 5, 2009, after an extended illness. He was born in Muscatine, IA July 27, 1948.

A memorial service will be held December 11, 2009, at the Stony Point Baptist Church in Mineral Point, MO. An additional memorial service will be held December 16, 2009, at 10:30 AM at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church in Columbus Junction, IA, with a time of fellowship to follow. Burial will be held at the Cambrian Cemetery in Columbus Junction.

Dave served in the U.S. Air Force 1967-71, serving three years in Tacoma, WA. He was employed for 35 years in the telecommunications field. Dave was a fan of NASCAR races and enjoyed showing his 1970 Chevelle at car shows throughout the Midwest where he won many trophies.

Dave married Sandy (Schrum) Coleman in 1992.

Dave accepted the Lord as his savior and became a member of the Stony Point Baptist Church, Mineral Point, MO. He was baptized November 28, 2009 by Pastor Claude Evans.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Sandy, of Potosi; his children: son, Chad Evans, of Iowa City, IA, and daughters, Annissa Evans of Phoenix, AZ, Aimee (Michael) Miner of Potosi, and Katie Coleman of St. Louis, MO; his parents: Delmore and Laverta Evans of Columbus City, IA; his brothers: Dennis (Melody) Evans of Bozeman, MT, and Danny (Cyndie) Evans, of Muscatine, IA; his niece: Betsy (Marty) Duffy of Oskaloosa, IA, and nephew: Andy Evans, of Rock Island, IL.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
