Arlene L. Pretz, 87, of Appleton, Wisconsin and formerly of Clinton, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at the Grand Horizon Nursing Home in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. Visitation was Saturday from 9 a.m. to service time. Burial was in the Andover Cemetery. Pastor Shannon Witt officiated. Pallbearers were Brian Moard, Aaron Rowold, Leneral Eickert, Peter Holmes, Kent Rickertsen and Neil Rickertsen. Memorials may be made to the family.

Arlene was born September 21, 1922, in Andover, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Lucinda (Schroder) Eickert. She was baptized on January 30, 1926 in Lyons. She attended school in Miles, Iowa. Arlene married LeRoy Pretz on February 6, 1946, at St. Johns Church in Lyons, he passed away in 1991. She farmed with her husband near Andover. They dressed many chickens and ducks and other poultry.

Arlene started her own wallpaper business. She wallpapered many businesses and homes for families. She was a member of Farm Bureau and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her children; Sherrill (Doug) Moard of Appleton, WI; Larry (Kim) of Nashville, TN; Brenda Rickertsen of Charlotte, Iowa; and daughter-in-law, Laura Pretz of Clinton, Iowa; grandchildren, Nicole, Brian, Michelle, Carmon, Aaron, NaVon, Nathan, Kent, and Neil; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilbert (Dorothy) Eickert, Harvey (Jeanen) Eickert, Virgil (Wanda) Eickert; three sisters, Bernadine (Lyle) Cornilsen, Jerry (Harlan) Miller, and Joan (Eldon) Paulsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Terry on August 7, 2009, infant daughter, Marley Rae.
