Peggy J. Burmeister Wear, 64, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the All American Care Center in Muscatine. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Casket Bearers will be Nathan Beckman, Cody Burmeister, Timmy Gingerich, Darik Burmeister, Isiah Reid, Brian Alloway, Jr., Brian Alloway, Sr. and Randy Ziehl. Burial will be in Cedar Bethel Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the First Baptist Church, Muscatine. Visitation for Peggy will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Peggy’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Peggy Joyce Wagner was born on February 2, 1946, in Conesville, Iowa, the daughter of Leo R. and Viola Mae (Stratton) Wagner. Peggy was a homemaker and enjoyed playing games, cards, collecting knick-knacks and most of all, loved spending time with her family and raising her children and grandchildren.

Peggy will be deeply missed by her children, Kevin Burmeister and his wife, Diane of Savannah, Missouri, Keith Burmeister of Mediapolis, Kurt Burmeister of Grandview and Kenneth Burmeister and his wife, Danielle of Conesville; 12 grandchildren, Cody and Nathan, Tabitha and Timothy, Darik, Bryce and Colton, Brandon, Amber, Kelsey, Kinsey and Kyler; three great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Zaden and Katelynn; siblings, Bob Wagner of Muscatine, Juanita Lobdell of Davenport, David Wagner of Muscatine, Mona Alloway of Wapello, Donna Alloway of Muscatine, Marilyn Brockert of Toolsboro, Margaret Mesecher of Wapello, Patty Adcock and husband, Duane of Muscatine, Randy Wagner and wife, Lesa of Muscatine and Kerry Ziehl and husband, Ron of Muscatine and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Kathy McCullough and three siblings, Harriette Bass, Jack Wagner and Sharon Stevens.
