Doris McAtee of Conesville, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010.

Doris Jean Dockery was born May 17, 1928, at Hickory Creek, Missouri. She was the daughter of Forrest and Ruby Dockery. She had two brothers, Melvin (Sarah) Dockery of Trenton, Missouri, and Wade (Hazel) Dockery of Grand Junction, Colorado. She had two sisters, Venna (Herbert) Kincade, and Sharon Kennedy of Kansas City, Kansas.

She married her first husband, Richard Kirk and had three children, Sharey (Daniel) Pilcher, Skip (Amy) Kirk, and Rick (Becky) Kirk.

Her second husband was James McAtee. They married August 12, 1951. They had four children, Linda (Jerry) Culpepper, Dan (Chris) McAtee, Carl (Laura) McAtee and Laura (Carter) McAtee.

She had 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.

She worked at Louis Rich Foods in West Liberty until she retired in July 7, 1990.

One of her biggest achievements was to write a family history for each of her children. She also was known for her jellies that she made for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by both brothers, one sister, Venna, and both daughters, Sharey Pilcher and Laura McAtee, and both husbands.

She has requested cremation. Services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Grace United Church of Christ of Conesville at 1:00 p.m., and a luncheon will follow.

You finally got your wish, Mom. You are going home. We all will miss you very much!
