Funeral services for Ed Finley, 80, who died at his home northwest of town on July 16, were held Monday at the Pierce funeral home. Mr. Finley, a resident of this community for 50 years, had been in poor health for several months.

William Edward Finley was the son of Samuel S. and Mary Jane Kyle Finley and was born at Grandview, Iowa on November 5, 1868. On January 17, 1899 he was married to Zola Trible. Mr. and Mrs. Finley were the parents of two children, Lulu, at home and Sammy, who died in infancy.

Mr. Finley is survived by his wife, a daughter, Lulu, at home, a grandson, Delbert Finley, and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Perkins of Muscatine.

Funeral services were in charge of Dr. Will M. Hughes of the United Presbyterian church. Burial was in Rice cemetery.
