Matilda CeCelia Perkins, 84, of Burlington, died at 3:05 a.m. Saturday, Sug 15, 1998, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born September 1, 1913, in Chicago, she was the daughter of John and Ada Carlson Block. On June 29, 1940, she married Elmer LeRoy Perkins in Burlington. Mrs. Perkins was a hommaker and seamstress.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Burlington for over 60 years., United Methodist Women for many years, Burlington Northern Veterans Association and National Association of Retired and Veterans Railway Employees.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Celia Crawford and Lois Wiegard, both of Burlington; and Margery Hasbrouck of Charleston, S.C.; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildtren; and nine step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be after 8 a.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Perkins will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Asbury Methodist Churcxh with the Rev. Karen Nichols Dungan officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to Asbury United Methodist Church.
