HAD PROMISING FUTURE

Death Comes at the City Hospital...Tuesday Evening After a Brave Fight Against Typhoid Fever - His Career Has Been a Notable One in Profession.

In the death of Ben F. Krahl, which took place at the city hospital Tuesday evening at 5:45 o'clock Aurora loses one of its most promising young men and one who had already reached a high place in his profession. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Krahl of 154 Lincoln avenue.

The funeral services will be held at the First M.E. church Friday afternoon at two o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. C.K. Carpenter and Rev. H.T. Clendenning of Elgin formerly in charge of the First M.E. church here.

Was a Prominent Mason.

Deceased was a member of the local lodge of Masons No. 254 A.F. & A.M., also Aurora Chapter No. 22 R. A.M., Aurora Commandery No. 22 Knight Templar and a member of the Eastern Star lodge of this city.

After graduating from the East Aurora high school he went to Champaign where he attended the university of Illinois taking a course of civil engineering, and graduating from that place he accepted a position with the Pennsylvania Railroad company for which he has worked ever since.

During the elevation of the Pennsylvania company's tracks in Chicago Mr. Krahl was called to that city and was the engineer in charge of the large job, which was one of the largest undertakings of the kind ever attempted in Chicago. After completing the work in Chicago he was called back to Pittsburg again to take charge of the construction of some large bridges which were being erected in that city by the Pennsylvania Railroad company. He was in San Francisco at the time of the earthquake.

While home on a visit from the east from whence he came three weeks ago he was taken ill and removed to the city hospital one week later where he was found to be suffering with typhoid fever gradually grew worse until he finally died at that place.

Deceased had a large circle of friends in this city who have hoped and anxiously awaited the turn when he would show an improvement but the sad news of his death will be received with grief by his many friends with whom he was associated.
