Funeral services for 77 year old Cecelia Jane Gabriel of Columbus Junction, will be held on Friday, October 4, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Joseph, Columbus Jct. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on thursday from 2-8 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. The family will be present from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

C. Jane Gabriel died on Tuesday October 2, 1996 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

Cecelia Jane Bruty was born December 14, 1918 in Washington, Iowa to Francis and Katheryn Eagle Bruty. She married John F. Gabriel in November 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jane had worked as a bookkeeper for a feedmill in Washington, Iowa. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph, Columbus Junction, and the Altar and Rose Society. Jane was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.

Jane is survived by her children, Mrs. Bruce (Katheryn J.) Thoene, LeClaire, Iowa; and two sons, John F. Gabriel, Jr. Muscatine and Wm. James Gabriel, Columbus Junction. There are 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Scranton, Mrs. Mary Brown, both of Washington, Iowa and Mrs. Kermit (Patricia) Farrier, Ottumwa, Iowa; and brother Charles Bruty, Washington, Iowa.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, John, two brothers, Henry and Wilber and a sister, Geraldine Pribe.
