Anna Mae Blake, age 99 of Mediapolis, died Friday January 30, 1998 at the Community Care of America in Mediapolis.

The daughter of Hugh Harvey and Nancy Ann (Hensleigh) Martin, she was born December 25, 1898 at rural Mediapolis. On December 6, 1917 she married Martin Leo Blake at Mediapolis; he died October 29, 1972. She was a homemaker, a graduatge of Mediapolis High School, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mediapolis. She enjoyed quilting.

Anna Mae is survived by her 5 daughters; Anna Elizabeth (Betty) Streed of Middletown; Margery Mae Curtis of Hiawatha; Dorothy Jean Tudor of Spokane, Washington; Maxine Lenore Ruther of Burlington; Barbara June Shriver of Sunset, Texas; 2 sons; Richard Lloyd Blake of DeWitt, Martin Leonard (Pat) Blake of Fremont, California; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was proceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Howard Lee, a daughter Janet Louise, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Friends called as they desired on Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis; there was no family visitation. Funeral services were Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, with Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Interment followed at the Kossuth Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the First United Methodist Church of Mediapolis.
