Donald W. Snyder, 47, 6901 McIntyre Road, died Monday morning at his home. Dr. Mark Odell, Muscatine County Medical Examiner, said Snyder died as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kilpeck Community Friends Church. The Rev. Clyde Hartman will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Riley Funeral Home. burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Snyder was born Oct. 17, 1935 in Muscatine, a son of Samuel C. and Minnie Hathaway Snyder. He had been a resident of Muscatine most of his life. On may 29, 1965, he married Juanita Hesford in Joy, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Snyder attended the Kipeck Community Friends Church. He was a machinist at Carver Pump Co. for almost 20 yearsw.

Surviving are one son, Douglas, at home; three daughters, Amy, Mari and Marcia, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Snyder of Muscatine; six brothers, Clarence of Selma, Iowa, Gary of Grandview, Walter of Knoxville, Iowa, and Larry, Robert and John, all of Muscatine; six sisters, Mrs. Craton (Sharon) Hunt of Fruitland, Mrs. Ron (Janet) Mairet of Grandview, Kathy Snyder of Corydon, Iowa, and Mrs. Delwyn (Marianne) Evans, Mrs. Gary (Mary) Bragg and Mrs. Gayle Davis, all of Muscatine.

Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his father on Dec. 4, 1982, one brother and one sister.
