Services were held Monday, Dec. 21, 1992, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, for 76-year-old Ruth Alice Reid of West Liberty.

Mrs. Reid died Friday, December 18, 1992, at the Muscatine Care Center following an extended illness.

A general memorial has been established. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.

The Rev. Daryl Erickson and the Rev. Mario Padilla officiated. Music was provided by Donna Belle Hughes and Brian Cummings. Casket bearers were Teresa Wilson, Leroy Ruse, Paul Reid, Catherine Reid, Amy Fridley, Garry Fuller, Lane Reid, Rodney Reid, April Moore, Patrick Reid, Steven Ruse, Christopher Fuller and Rebecca Reid.

Ruth Littrel was born November 17, 1916, in Letts to Lloyd and Louella Jones Littrell. She married Orville Reid, Sr., June 1, 1935, in Kahoka, Mo. Orville preceded Ruth in death on August 14, 1982.

Ruth was a life-long resident of the area. She was a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church and the Letts Garden Club. She attended the West Liberty Christian Fellowship Church after moving to the West Liberty community.

She is survived by her seven children: Garry and Carolyne Reid, Letts; Mrs. Allan (Janice) Hahn, Davenport; Mrs. Stanley (Karen) Ruse, Titonka, Iowa; Orville Tom and Iona Reid, Jr., West Branch; Mrs. Gary (Judy) Streat, Muscatine, Ms. Jane Fuller, Davenport; Denis Reid, Muscatine.

There are 13 grandchildren and six great granddaughters.

She is also survived by her brother, Maurice Littrel, Muscatine, and two sisters, Mrs. Leah Smith, Muscatine, and Mrs. Lucille Spates, Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Wayne and Howard, a sister, Leona Schafer, and an infant brother.
