EVELYN R. MURRAY
Evelyn Ruth “Sis” Murray, age 77, of Oakville, died Sunday morning, March 29, 1992 at the Burlington Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1915 at Oakville, the daughter of Frank and Hulda Bjork Swan. On October 14, 1934, she married Robert Elmer Murray at Mediapolis. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1979. She was a graduate of the Oakville High School in 1933. She had worked at Ditt’s Restaurant in Oakville and was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Oakville and the Louisa County Farm Bureau Women.

She is survived by one son, Robert of Burlington; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Myrtle Deitrick of Burlington and Lela Pulver of Trenton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson.

The funeral service for Evelyn Murray was held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, March 31, 1992 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, with Rev. Lexie Kirkpatrick officiating. Elsie Stephens provided the organ music. The casket bearers were Steve Metcalf, Mike Thornton, Gene Murray, Don Kramer, Jim Wykert, and Doug Marquardt. The flower attendants were Barb Gerst, Connie Meeker, and Jane Kramer. Burial followed by the Edwards Cemetery at Oakville. A memorial fund has been established.
