ROBERT G. RUBLE

Robert Gene Ruble, age 65, of Wapello, Iowa, died Thursday evening, February 11, 1993 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Iowa City. He was born March 31, 1927 at Wapello, the son of James and Minnie Ament Ruble.

He was a veteran of the US Army during WW II and then later served in the US Navy. He had worked at the Iowa Ordinance Plant at Middlestown, Iowa. He also worked several years for Clarence Keltner and then several years for the Wapello Livestock Sales. He was a member of the Harness Racing Association and for a time he trained horses at the Quad City Downs. He had been a member of the Wapello VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166.

Survivors include two brothers, William Ruble of Morning Sun and Tom Ruble of Winona, Minnesota; three sisters, Bessie Johnson of Columbus, Georgia, Mary Sue (Mrs. Allen) Woods of Washington, and Catherine Ruble of Wapello; one uncle, Raymond Ament of Herford, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James; and a sister, Lola Haislett.

The funeral service for Robert Ruble was held at 1:30 on Monday, February 15, 1993 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, with Rev. Ed Philgreen officiating. Bev Parsons provided the organ music. The casket bearers were Lyle Gillette, Mike Schneider, Roger Noble, Kermit Kinsley, Anthony Knight, and Harry Westfall. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery with military rites by the Wapello VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166. The family met with friends Sunday afternoon at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.
