MYRTLE DAVIS BURDINE

A graveside memorial burial service for Myrtle Davis Burdine will be held Wednesday, May 4, 1994 at 11 a.m. at Wapello Cemetery with Rev. Bill Young officiating.

Mrs. Burdine died Sunday, October 24, 1993 at a hospital in Baytown, Texas. She was 82 years old.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 27, 1993 at Navarre Chapel. Dr. Richard Kleiman officiated.

She was born December 15, 1910 in Fairbault, Minnesota. At age two, after the death of her mother, she was raised in Wapello, Iowa by her grandmother, Maggie Davis, her uncle, William Davis, and her aunt, Mary Davis Fraser. She was active in the Presbyterian Church and Sunday school and graduated from Wapello High School in 1928. She served 10 years as Deputy County Auditor for Louisa County. In 1958, she married Corwin G. Burdine and they celebrated 55 years of marriage in 1993. She has resided in Baytown, Texas since 1976 where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry C. Davis; mother, Clara Sellers Davis; sisters, Mabel Peterson of Denver, Colorado, Ruth Nelson of Fairbault, Minnesota and brothers, Oscar Davis of Coal Valley, Illinois and William Davis of Athens, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Corwin G. Burdine and her daughter, Corena McKenzie and Ed McKenzie of Baytown, Texas. Her grandchildren; Mary and Kelly Casey of Austin, Texas, and Mark McKenzie of Lake Charles, LA.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dudgeon McCulley Funeral Home.
