Ruth Anderson Bentley, 84, of Route 1, Wapello, died Monday, April 13, at her home.

Born March 2, 1903, at Wapello, she was the daughter of John and Lillie Flitch McChesney. She married E. Verner Anderson Dec. 24, 1921. He died in 1945. She later married Albert Bentley Aug. 12, 1952. He died in 1970.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wapello, the Jefferson Township Circle, Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 257, the TTT Society, Wapello, the Wapello Study Club, and the Louisa County Historical Society.

Surviving are a stepson, Bruce Bentley, Mediapolis; one sister, Mary Baker, Wapello; and one brother, Dean McChesney, Fairfield, Calif.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello.

Services for Mrs. Bentley will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. George Yetter officiating. Burial will be in Wapello cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the First Presbyterian Church, Wapello, or the Wapello Rescue Unit.
