Rhoda L. Brown, 96, Morning Sun died 11:10 p.m. Friday Oct. 3 at the Morning Sun Manor.

Visitation was held Monday evening at Pierce Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.

Services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday October 7 at the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Schmidtberger officiated. Pallbearers were Kenneth Brown, John Brown, Steve Coberly, Ted Greiner, Harold Riddle and Gene Willson. Pierce Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born Aug. 31, 1890, at Bostwick, Neb., she was the daughter of Albert J. and Margaret Jane Reed McDonald. She married John C. Brown in 1966; he died in February 1974.

Survivors include one daughter, Jean Jacoby, Port Hueneme, Calif.; one son, William Young, Burlington; two stepdaughters, Belva Hannan, What Cheer, and Dorothy Shinn, Ottumwa; two stepsons, Lester Brown, Burlington, and Evertt Brown, Denver, Colo.; a granddaughter, Sherry Lane, Denmark, with whom she made her home prior to moving to the care center; 23 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
