George H. Jones of Junction Goes in Death

Columbus Junction - George Henry Jones, 79, who had spent the greater part of his life in this community, died at his home here at 10 p, m. Friday. The son of Allen R. and Sophronia T, Russell Jones, he was born in Lawrence, N. Y., Nov. 17,1861 and came to this community when seven years of age. He married Miss Ada Stone on May 11, 1884 and her death occurred on May 19, 1930. Surviving are four sons, Aura of Davenport and Ora, Plennie and Myrel of Columbus Junction; five daughters, Mrs. J. Kemp of Conesville, Mrs. L. G. Browning of Letts, Mrs. L. W. Fisher of Moline, (Ill.) and Mrs. W. E. Gabriel, and Mrs. W. H. Hull of Columbus Junction; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stephens Funeral home with the Rev. C. H. Hiller, Methodist pastor, in charge. Burial will be in the Columbus cemetery.
