Abstract from Wapello Republican Thursday, December 20, 1973

Albert Sharran Pontzius, 74, son of Cleaver and Fanny Nichols Pontzius, was born in Louisa County Oct. 15, 1899 and died Dec. 14, 1973, at Memorial Hospital in Burlington. He married Edna Courtney in July 1919. He farmed in the Winfield community. She died Dec. 24, 1946. He married Vada Allworth April 15, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, one sister, two sons, James and Sharron and Albert Michael. Surviving are his wife Vada; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Miller of North English, Mrs. Bonnie Jem of Metamore, Ill.; four sons, Forrest M. of Davenport, Leland of Milan, Ill., Patrick of Hilliard, Ohio; a stepdaughter Maxine Fisher of Mediapolis; and a stepson Burton Allworth of Wapello and a sister Mrs. Audrey Foster of Mount Union.
