Everett L. Butler, 81, Morning Sun, died Oct. 12 at Morning Sun Manor after an extended illness.

He was born March 8, 1904 at Northfield to Otto and Matilda Gustafson Butler. He married Lucille Curran June 1, 1929 at Wapello. Mr. Butler farmed and raised livestock until retiring in 1983.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Bill and Terry, Morning Sun; a brother, Maurice Butler, Burlington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Sunday evening at Pierce Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 14 at Pierce Funeral Home. The Rev. Dick Clark officiated.

Honorary Pallbearers were Everett Lee, Harold Thomas, Albert Pogemiller, Ben Simmons, Robert Baylor and Ruben Turk.

Pallbearers were Ray Dill, Maurice Schmeiser, Tom Harbison, Robert K. Nichols, H.A. Harbison Jr. and John Thomas.

Sherry Robb and Mary Bonar assisted with flowers.

Pamela Butler was organist. Joyce Butler was vocalist.

Burial was in Kossuth Cemetery, Mediapolis, Iowa.
