MUSCATINE-Helen L. Bohling, 75, of 114 North St., Fruitland, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at Community Health Resources.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Island United Methodist Church. The Rev. Lavina Shoffner will officiate. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Rily-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Island United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Bohling was born on Feb. 28, 1924, in Muscatine, the daughter of Orbry and Lydia Pauly Bryant. She married Alfred C. (Calvin) Bohling on Aug. 6, 1944, in San Luis Obispo, California.

She was a member of the Island United Methodist Church.

She had worked at the Elks as a cook.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred C. Bohling of Fruitland; two sons, Alfred C. Bohling Jr. and his wife, Dianne, of Columbus Junction and Richard W. Bohling and his wife, Wendi, of Rochelle, Ill.; three grandchildren, Brandon Bohling and his wife, Denise, of Phoenix, Ariz., Joe Bohlig of Iowa CIty and Tara Bohling of Eau Claire, Wis.; two brothers, John and Arthur Bryant, both of Muscatine; and four sisters, Florence Foster of Chula Vista,Calif., Virgie Buchanan of Kevil, Ky., Shirley Welker of Muscatine and Ethel Allen of Wapello.

She was preceded in death by hr parents, one grandson, Brian and one sister, Dorothy Miller.
