Lyman Carroll Bliss, 82, of rural Wapello, died Thursday, June 16, 1994, at his home.

Born Nov. 7, 1911, in Lee County, he was the son of Cecil and Eliza Ann Sheppard Bliss. Mr. Bliss had worked as a heavy equipment operator and later farmed near Wapello. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sisters, Ellen Kracht and Edith Blondell, both of Burlington; two brothers, Clarence "Danny" Bliss of Eustis, Fl., and Richard Bliss of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

There was no service.

Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, was in charge of arrangements.
