Funeral rites held for Rev. S. Ray Blair

The funeral for the Reverend S. Ray Blair, 51, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, was held in Rose Point Reformed Presbyterian Church on December 22, 1981 and at Rimersburg, Pennsylvania, December 23, 1981. Burial was in Clarion County, Pennsylvania.

The Reverend Blair was pastor of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Washington for a number of years. He also taught school at Sewal and Washington and also was guidance counselor in Columbus Schools during his stay in Iowa. He died following a heart attack.

The Reverend Blair was born in Rimersburg, October 21, 1930 to Wylie R. and Louella Hindman Blair. Surviving are his mother of Rimersburg; his wife, the former Clara Sinclair whom he married May 28, 1956; three daughters, Dorinda, Heather and Alorah, all at home. There also are five sisters and three brothers surviving.

The Reverend Blair had been pastor of Rose Point Reformed Prebyterian Church the past three years. He also was moderator of the Pittsburgh Prebytery and served on several boards.

He was a graduate of Geneva College, Associate Presbyterian Seminary and held graduate degrees form the University of Iowa. He was pastor at Washington 22 years and also served several years as editor of the Associate Prsbyterian Magazine. He also had several terms as moderator of the Associate Presbyterian Synod.
