Burlington Hawkeye, November 16, 1995

Nina Blake, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1995, at University Hospitals in Iowa City following an extended illness.

Born Dec. 27, 1915, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Frank and Gladys DeVore Selser. She married Earl Elwood Blake. He died in 1976.

Mrs. Blake had lived at Fruitland and later at Fairport, where she and her husband operated a grocery store.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Ricketts of Buffalo; one son, Paul Blake of Durant; one sister, Elma Schmidt of West Burlington; one brother, Wilbur Selser of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty.

Graveside services for Mrs. Blake will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Cedar Bethel Cemetery, west of Letts.
