Jack Blakley, 75, of Town View Vilage, Ainsworth, died Friday morning, January 9, 1987, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Chapel with Rev. Douglas Tharp of Ainsworth Community Church officiating. Donna Belle Hughes was organist and Irene Trotter vocalist.

Casket bearers were Wayne Blakley, Jim Blakley, Jerry Bean, John Ort, Terry Anding, and John Yoder. Burial was in the Oregon Township Cemetery.

Mr. Blakley was born September 26, 1911, at Huntsville, Tennessee, a son of James and Ella Jeffers Blakley. He married Iola Bixby April 10, 1943, at Columbus, Kansas. He was a member of the Ainsworth Community Church. Before his retirement he was employed as a custodian at the University of Iowa.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, James Blakley of Ainsworth, Wayne Blakley of Athens, Ohio, and Ronald Blakley of Alsip, Illinois; three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Betty Ann) Bean of Ainsworth, Diana Ort of Columbia, Missouri, and Theresa Kincaid of Morristown, Tennessee; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Doyle of Durant, Howard of Gatliff, Kentucky, and James Jr. of Oneida, Tennessee; and two sisters, Mildred Blakley of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Lillie Dorsey of Lansdowne, Maryland.

Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
