Harlan Bjork, 82, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; died Oct. 27, 2006, at the Peninsula Care and Rehabilation Center, Tarpon Springs. He was born Oct. 23, 1924, near Mediapolis, Iowa, the son of Oscar and Myrtle Duncan Bjork. He was a graduate of Morning Sun High School. He married Janice Stonesifer in Alexandria, Virginia, in May, 1955.

Harlan was a veteran of World War II, an engineering graduate of the University of Iowa and served in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He retired from the Army with the rank of Lt. Colonel in 1977 and had lived in Florida since that time, where he was self-employed as a freelance photographer.

He was a member of the Palm Harbor Prebyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen and Tom Cote, Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Howard Bjork, West Liberty; and a grandson, Pete Cote, Omaha.

Harlan was preceded in death by his wife Janice on June 30, 2006.
