Mrs. Allice Blodgett dies

Mrs. Allice Loretta Blodgett, 91, of Fredonia, died Saturday, May 6, 1989, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Columbus City Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Woodin officiating. Casket bearers were Dale Powers, Clayton Worley, Robert Hynes, Paul Bailey, Sam Sands and Harold Schrier.

The Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Blodgett was born January 16, 1898, in rural Wapello, the daughter of Charles Edwin and Allice Lavina Statts Cox. She married James Otto Blodgett on September 27, 1917, at Wapello.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Mary Lois) Morgan of Winfield, Mrs. Doris Krebs of Davenport, Mrs. James (Betty) Van Auken of Columbus Junction, and Mrs. M.J.(Twyla)Willams of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Phil Blodgett of Silvis, Illinois and James (Dick) Blodgett of Columbus Junction; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Daisy Lineweaver of Cedar Rapids.

Her husband preceded her in death on September 3, 1975, and two sons, Charles and Keith.
