CONWAY, Mo. - Vincent Howard Bishop, 80, Conway, died Wednesday, Sept 21, 2005, at his home after a long battle with illness.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Bishop was born Oct. 4, 1924, the son of Rado and Lela Vincent Bishop of Phillipsburg, Mo. He married Betty Ann Burns of Phillipsburg on Nov. 10, 1945. She proceded him in death in 1997.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Shortly after they were married, he and his wife moved to Davenport, where he becan working for, and eventually retired from, John Deere. During their marriage, they had five children. After the death of his wife of 52 years, he moved back to Conway.

Survivors include his children, Phyllis Estabrook of Columbus Junction, Robert Bishop of Wapello, Brenda Meewes and husband Jim of Gilbert, Ariz., Donald Bishop and wife Jeanne of Letts, Michael Bishop and wife Heather of Conway; two sisters, Geneva Day of LeClaire and Gertrude Jeter and husband Russel of Lebannon, Mo., 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Glades Gilpin; and two grandchildren, Michael and Jill Bishop.
