Oscar Anderson Dies After Long Illness

Oscar C. Anderson, 1855-1929, age 73, a well known and highly respected resident of Louisa county, passed away at his home here last Friday morning after a long illness.

Deceased was born at Cambridge, Ill., December 5, 1855. He was married Feb. 1, 1881, to Miss Anna Schmitt of Prairie City, Iowa, who survives. They made their home on a farm near Prairie City, resided for seven years on their farm in Des Moines county, later bought the Key farm near here; where they lived for 25 years. About two years ago they came to Wapello and have resided here since.

Besides the widow, he is survived by three sisters and two brothers: John Anderson, Spooner, Wisconsin: August Anderson, Veta, South Dakota; Mrs. Minnie Johnson and Mrs. Anna Erricson of Oakland, Neb.; Mrs. Carrie Norine, Grand Junction, Colo.

Funeral services were conducted from the home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon by the Reb. W. G. Barr of Morning Sun. Burial was made in the Wapello cemetery.

The pallbearers were: John Hunt, Frank Jarvis, Will Hamilton, Lloyd Edgar, James Wilson and Arthur Whisler.

Relatives from a distance who attended the O. C. Anderson funeral were: Henry Schmitt and Phillip Schmitt, brother of Mrs. Anderson, Verne Schmitt, Miss Lizzie Schmitt, sister of Mrs. Anderson, Chas. Seyb, Kahoka, Mo., Chas, Rauscher, Kahoka, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. M. Seyb and daughter of Franklin Ia., Mrs. Mary Seyb, Franklin, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Erricson and their son, Oliver Erricson, Oakland, Nebr., August Fye of Franklin, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith of Morning Sun, Ia.
