Miss Mildred Barnes Died At Fort Madison

Miss Mildred Anita Barnes, 1909-1964, 54, of 717 1/2 Avenue G., Ft. Madison, died Tuesday, March 31, 1964 at 7:35 a.m. at Sacred Heart hospital.

Miss Barnes was born at Columbus Junction on September 28, 1909 and had lived at Ft. Madison since 1929. She was an office filing employee at the W. A. Sheaffer Pen company. She was a member of the Christian church and served in many capacities at the church including treasurer and Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also president of the Kum-Join-Us Club.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Ora May Kern Barnes, Ft. Madison; a sister, Mrs. Carl (Louise) Stolley, Muscatine and a nephew. Her father, Clyde O. Barnes preceded her in death.

Services were Friday at 10 a.m. at the Barr Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roy G. Ives officiating. Graveside services were conducted at West Branch cemetery at West Branch, IA.
