Willis Magraw Dead in Action
Dies in CEBU fighting, April 30th.

Pfc. Willis Magraw, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Magraw, has been officially reported killed on April 30 in action against the enemy on the island of Cebu of the Philippine group. He was serving with the infantry of the Eighth Army at the time of his death. Pvt. Magraw entered service from West Burlington on July 10, 1944, and was assigned to overseas duty on December 30 of the same year.

Willis was born at Wapello on April 24, 1913. He is survived by his wife, Helen Rhold Magraw, a daughter, Katherine Kay, 3 years old, and a son, Kenneth, 1 year old. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William MaGraw of Morning Sun, a sister, Mrs. Iona Gritton of Aledo, Illinois, and two brothers, Russell, now on duty with the army air forces on New Guinea, and Marion in training at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma.
